Just Sokka chasing down a bit more of that splendid, hallucinogenic cactus juice (That is an old-fashioned glass juicer in his hand. I could have had the knife out, too, but I decided to not be quite so morbid.). Of course this cactus can move! I know I'm not the first to come up with this idea, but I couldn't help it! >.<
I didn't have the Cactuar doing 10,000 needles simply 'cuz I don't want Sokka to get hurt.
Everything was outlined with Le Pen (?!) brand fine liners and then colored with Letraset markers. Don't ask me how long it took to make it because I never keep track of that!
Tried my best to match the colors on everything to the ones used during that scene. I am terrible at backgrounds so this one is fairly crappy, and those Southern Water Bending tribe Eskimos have crazy skin to color. I ended up layering Warm Grey 1 over Dusky Pink over Lavender. It's not perfect but I think I got pretty close.
I think this is one of the best drawings I've done so far and I'm really happy with Sokka's shading.
In the end I was glad that I scanned it before I added in the Cactuar's speed lines because the ones I did by pen turned out to be crap. I totally wasn't thinking and it looks very random as all the lines are coming in at different angles. These lines were done on MS Paint.
COMMENTS ARE MOST APPRECIATED! ^.^

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
